FINDING THE SUPPORT YOU NEED

USE A SEACH ENGINE

There are many ways that you can find a counsellor.

You could try using a search engine from the list shown below

www.google.com
www.bing.com
www.yahoo.com
www.askjeeves.com

Then type grief counsellor into the search bar and then add which town or city you live in. This should give a list of grief counsellors and organizations in your local area.

ASK FOR A REFERRAL

You could also ask your doctor, a priest, citizens advice bureau or you could ask someone who has used a counsellor in the past.

Asking for referrals can work really well as it will give you a list of counsellors and organisations that they have found helpful.

THE ORIGINAL WAY

There is always the original way of finding a counsellor or a support organisation. You can start by looking in phone directories, yellow pages and newspapers.

It’s how we did it before the internet started and I’m sure we will be using these methods for hundreds of years to come.

  6. This is one of the best ideas I’ve seen yet. I myself have been through a few miscarriages and it’s one of the hardest things a person has to deal with and having to do it all alone as I did it’s even worse. It’s wonderful to know that there is something like this out there to help others cope. Best wishes and good luck-Melva

  10. Great tips for finding support during troubled times. I wonder if there are any anonymous counselling services that can be accessed for free online? I know that some people might prefer using the internet (for example, an instant messaging method) rather than talking in person or over the phone, in case they want to remain anonymous.
