Hello there, first of all let us introduce ourselves to you, we are the founders of “From Cherubs To Angels”, this is our journey and story on why we decided to do the website “From Cherubs To Angels”.

Our story starts nearly 16 years ago which is when fate brought us together and we are now soul mates very much in love. We both remember the day we found out that we were pregnant, ( I say we because the pregnancy affects both people not just the woman, and my husband loves the fact that pregnancy for him is very magical and beautiful, he always wants to help in any small way he can, from a shoulder/neck massage to painting my toe nails when my bump got bigger).

This was our first pregnancy and we were very excited like you can imaging. Everything seamed to be going fine and we was looking forward to seeing the baby at our first scan. We booked our scan and waited impatiently for the day to arrive. When the day finally arrived we had so many emotions going through our systems. Joy, anticipation, excitement and of course love, the list was endless.

We got to the hospital and my husband and I went into the room where we were having the scan. The scan started and we both were sitting there waiting to see our first little cherub that we had created together, but that was when our life’s changed forever. The midwife who was doing the scan suddenly stopped the ultrasound and said ” I won’t be a minute” that was one of the longest minute of our life’s. When the midwife returned she wasn’t alone she had two other colleges with her.

After about what seemed a lifetime had passed the midwife told us that the baby’s heart was not beating and we had lost our baby. Our hearts were ripped apart that day and we felt like this for weeks. We felt so alone and couldn’t understand what had gone wrong. We thought our hearts would never heal.

Nearly a year went by and I fell pregnant again. We was worried about what had happened during our first pregnancy, but our doctor told us that the same thing happening twice in a row was not a regular occurrence. But unfortunately the same events occurred again.

My husband and I have lost 22 pregnancies in total now and out of those 22 pregnancies we have had 20 miscarriages including 2 sets of twins and we lost 1 set of stillborn twins and 1 set of stillborn triplets. In total my husband and I have lost 24 babies.

There was no one to help or support us during these times of loss and heartbreak. And there still is not enough help out there. This is why we decided to set up From Cherubs To Angels. We wanted to give anyone who was or still is suffering the loss of a child somewhere they could come to get help, support and guidance in there time of need.

  1. I’m very sorry you and your husband had to endure this. Gosh, i cannot imagine what it must be like to lose so many babies other than heartbreaking. But what a beautiful thing to turn it around with this website and speak to others who may be having a similar experience. I too lost a child to my first pregnancy. The circumstances were a bit different, but I do understand the heartbreak. Thanks for creating this blog!

  2. I am so sorry you have suffered so many losses. Many years ago I miscarried and even though it was early in the pregnancy it still hit me hard. It took me awhile to try again but eventually, I did and had no further problems. To lose as many as you have must have taken an enormous amount of courage and I admire you for that. I think the philosophy behind From Cherubs to Angels is wonderful and it will help many women struggling to get over their own loss. My very best wishes to you both.

  3. Hi Tanya,

I am so sorry for what you and your husband had gone through. Wow! I was amazed you lost 24 babies! I know your site will be of help to others who lost just one! But your loss is so great, I can’t even imagine what you both went through, I don’t think no one can. I know you’ve been asked this question, have you considered adopting?

Thank you for sharing. I’m sure this page will give someone some support from their loss and help them heal.

  4. Hi Tanya,
I’m really sorry about your losses. I cried. I could only imagine how you may have feel. My sister’s first pregnancy was lost. My childhood friend lost her 4th pregnancy. And my friend lost hers just four months ago. I recently learn that My co-worker’s just lost her’s just this Monday.
I’m really glad I found your site because now I can refer them to your site and dedicate the babies they’ve lost here. God bless.

  5. I am absolutely touched! 24 babies and you are so easily writing about that. Life is not fair but people like you are a ray of hope for rest of the world!!!

Hats off to you people for the help that you offer to those who go through tough times of a child loss. May God bless you and always be with you 🙂

  6. This is a blessed website. It’s covered with love and will be such an encouragement for those who have been where you are. I can see so much good coming from your words and posts. The pain of losing a child is beyond anything else we could ever lose.

May your journey with this site produce fruit and blessings beyond compare. Thank you for sharing your life with those who have lost their own angels.

  7. Wow!
First off, you made me cry.
Second, you are probably the bravest person I know right now.
You are doing a wonderful service opening up the doors for people to come to you who have shared experiences. I can’t even imagine how difficult losing so many children would be.
I browsed your memory wall too – it sounds like you’re already being a support for those who need it. Seriously though, I’m sitting here and can barely type through the tears.
You’re service is one of a kind and so touching! Please share a Facebook link or page so I can help spread the word. I’ve never been there personally, but I’d be happy to share and try to reach others who need this!

  8. Hi Tanya and Darren! I was so touched by your story. I’m so sorry to hear about your losses. I strongly believe that everything happens for a reason. In spite of what happened to you, you set up a goal of helping and supporting others. I’m sure that God will reward you for your good deeds.

  9. Hi Tanya,

I’m very sorry to hear about your losses. My wife and I experienced a number of miscarriages in the past, so I can genuinely sympathize.

Nonetheless, the fact that you and Darren have set up this site and are looking to help others in a similar situation is truly admirable. I think it’s also a real testament to your strength. I wish you both all the best.

    Best, al

  10. I am so sorry to hear your story but the positivity you have created from the tragedies is heart-warming. You have created a site that will help others when no support from people in your same situation was available to you. Have you received any feedback from people who have turned to your site in their time of need to get through? If so, I’m sure that you must feel good about that at least.
    Best of luck to you.

  11. Hi there,

I am very sorry for what happened to you. You had so much lost! My sister had the same problem. She got pregnant and then, her baby’s heart stopped beating, and he died. She got pregnant again and unfortunately she had a spontaneous abortion. The Doctor gave her folic and aspirins to dilute her blood as it was too thick. Of course, there are so many other reasons why this terrible thing happen.
She had a bad time, and this website would have helped her a lot mentally. It’s been a quite long time now, but I will show her your site. I am sure she will find very useful!
Thank you for helping other people in the same situation, it is a beautiful thing to do!

    • Thank you for telling us about you sister, that must have been a very painful time for all of you. We wish we could have been there for you, your sister and the rest of your family. You now know where we are if any of you needs our help.

  12. This was very sad and heart touching to read. My heart goes out to you and your husband. I wish you the best of luck and I will send a prayer up that you and your husband will be able to have a healthy child one day. I will be sure to check in on you from time to time. Continue to share your stories. Believe it or not, you are helping people with this.

So amazing that you’re sharing your truly heart-felt story, to be able to help other people who have been through similar situations.

I very much admire your persistence too in keeping going. Extremely inspiring stuff! And I’m guessing by the name of your site you now have a lot of angels watching over you too.

I wish you all the very best, and hopefully things work out for you.

    Have my condolence.

  15. Hi!
My sympathy to you, your husband and to all couples who has lost angels.
I don’t know why and you did not mention the cause of death of your angels.
I have clicked many times on this page of yours. I thought that my net is not working well, but it is. Your about us age is written on a thin left sidebar and a little difficult to read. Maybe it’s just the way the theme you had chosen display your content.

    • Thank for leaving such kind words of encouragement and support. We have lost our babies for multiple reasons and the only reason we did not list them was because we didn’t want to bring back bad memories for anyone who has lost a baby the same way.

  16. Oh my gosh! holy cow! I have to be honest, I found your site through WA comment platform and I was totally unprepared for what i just read! 24? 24 babies?!?! Iv’e never heard of anything like that and Im in tears right now. I have plenty of friends who have been through this and its always heart wrenching. I’m going to share your page on Facebook for them. Bless your souls for creating this page. I’m sorry for all the many losses you have gone through, but I believe everything happens for a reason… and without your losses… there probably wouldn’t be this resource out there now for the many parents going through this. have you thought of adoption?

  17. Good for you for setting up a site like this. Sorry to hear about your losses. Amazing story and hopefully you can help others in a similar situation.
